Commission does not determine our verdict

Autohuurcheck may earn a commission if you book through certain links. That commission has no influence on which airports we cover, which suppliers we examine, or what a condition record says. A supplier cannot pay to change a recorded amount, a status or an ordering.

Source links and commercial links are separate

On every evidence page, supplier and reference sources are listed in their own block and carry no commission. Monetised calls to action appear in a clearly marked booking area, preceded by a disclosure, and use rel="sponsored" (and may also use nofollow). We keep four things separate: editorial evidence links, commercial affiliate links, indicative Autohuurcheck category prices, and live DiscoverCars search results.

Status labels mean something specific

• Verified conditional — checked against a named source on the stated date, and conditional on the specific offer you select at checkout.
• €0 damage deposit — available on a qualifying final offer only. It does not apply to every supplier, vehicle, product or date, and it never means that no other amount can be held or charged.

What does the price really cost?

The daily rate is only one line of what you actually need at the counter. A realistic pickup looks like this — the amounts below are labels, not quotes:

• Rental rate — the per-day price you book, multiplied by the number of rental days. This is the only amount most comparison sites show.
• Damage deposit — blocked on your credit card at pickup and released after return. €0 damage deposit is available on a qualifying final offer only.
• Excess / contractual liability — the maximum you can be charged for damage, separate from what is blocked.
• Fuel hold — a separate amount for the tank under full-to-empty style policies, typically the largest surprise.
• Toll amount — for example the €100 Via Verde device at Faro, held apart from deposit and fuel. Supplier-specific example; the exact toll hold or charge depends on the selected product and current supplier terms.
• Mandatory cover — any insurance the supplier requires for your card, age or product, charged on top of the rate.
• Optional extras — child seats, extra driver, GPS, cross-border.
• Local / airport fees and taxes — included in some rates and added in others; we mark them “not confirmed” until sourced.

The daily price alone is never the whole pickup requirement. We publish each amount on its own line and mark anything we have not confirmed, rather than folding it into one vague “deposit”. Vehicle-category prices displayed on Autohuurcheck are indicative “from” prices, not live quotes. Live prices and availability are shown by DiscoverCars after the visitor enters an airport and travel dates. Indicative prices are reviewed periodically and may differ from the final price.

Corrections

If an amount, card rule or toll charge in one of our records no longer matches the supplier's own terms, we update the record and change the last-checked date. Because terms shift without notice, you should always verify the final checkout and voucher before paying.
